REDUCTION IN CHARGES WANTED. RESOLUTION AT WALTON. At the October meeting of the Walton Settlers’ Association Mr F. E. Harris (chairman) considered Hiat an effort should be made to obtain a reduction in the charge made by the Thames Valley Electric Power Board for power, which, he said, was costing the farmers far too much, and they would be driven back to the use of benzine if a reduction was not made. Mr D. Maroney suggested that 'a letter should be isent to the Minister pointing out that at the present time a milking plant could be . r,tin cheaper on benzine than with electric power. At the suggestion of the chairman it visa decided to write to the Thames Valley Electric Power Board asking for a reduction in power charges as soon as possible, as the present rates were beyond the means of the dairy farmers.
