NOTICE OF LICENSING POLLS (PROPOSALS FOR LOCAL RESTORATION, AND FOR NATIONAL CONTINUANCE, NATIONAL PROHIBITION, OR STATE PURCHASE AND CONTROL); AND OF TIME AND PLACE FOR SELECTION OF FIT PERSONS TO APPOINT. SCRUTINEERS THEREFOR. IN pursuance of the Licensing Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, I, Percy Harold Wylde, Returning Officer for the Ohinemuri Licensing District, do hereby give notice that on the 4th day of November, 1925, the day appointed for taking the Electoral Poll for the Electoral District of Ohinemuri, simultaneously therewith a LICENSING POLL will be taken upon the following proposals : — LOCAL RESTORATION. LOCAL NO-LICENSE. And concurrently with the taking of the said Licensing Poll there with be submitted for the determination of the electors of the said Licensing District the following proposals : — NATIONAL CONTINUANCE. STATE PURCHASE & CONTROL NATIONAL PROHIBITION. Nominations of persons to appoint scrutineers in accoi dance with the Licensing Act, 1908, and the. amendments thereto; in respect bf each of the said proposals must be lodged with me not later than five o’clock in the afternoon of the 28th day of October, 1925. And I hereby give notice that I shall on the 30th day of October, 1925, at the hour of 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at my office in Paeroa, publicly consider all' nomination-papers of persons to appoint scrutineers which have been duly lodged in respect of the Licensing Poll for the said Licensing District and in respect of the National Licensing Poll. NOTICE OF POLLING DAY. IN pursuance of the Legislature Act, 1908, and its amendments, I, Henry R. Bush, Returning - Officer for the Electoral District of Thames, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 15th day of October, 1925, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as "member for the said district, and that the latest hour for receiving, nominations of candidates will be noon on the 27th day of October, 1925, and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several pollingplaces of the said district on the 4th day of' November, 1925. Every person desirous of becoming a candidate must be. nominated by not less than two electors of the district, by a nomina-tion-paper as prescribed by section 105 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or before NOON on the 27th day of October, 1929. Battson’s plumbing business at Paeroa Mr W. J. Simpson has resigned owing to health reasons, and will be leaving Paeroa. Mr R. P. Roberts, who has been some 16 years with the firm, has been appointed manager of the Paeroa branch, and takes up his new duties on Monday, October 5. Mr Simpson wishes to sincerely thank all those who have supported him in the past, and solicits the same consideration and share of public patronage for his successor. •
