GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. “ SUZANNA.” The amazing artistry of Mabel Normand, and the genius of Mack Sennett and F. Richard Jones have combined in the production of a photoplay of exquisite charm and beauty. This picture, wihch is to be shown to-night, is a story filled with old world charm. In it is visualised the loves and hates, the adventures and customs, in fact, the history of the early Spanish- Californian, which has been immortalised on film that it may live forever, not only in the minds, of men but within their vision. Also the fourth series of “Fighting Blood” will be screened. TO-MtORROW NIGHT. “ SANDRA.” There is a typical Russian caba»et, designed after the famous Lavoski of Petrograd, in “Sandra,” Barbara La Marr’s latest picture, which is the principal attraction to be screened to-morrow night. The fantastic set will give lovers of architectural art many new ideas- as to rooms bf curved ceilings, bulging walls, and terraced floors. Barbara appears in this film as a woman with a restless heart, wandering about the world seeking her true love. Bert Lytell plays the leading male role. The picture has made a tremendous hit, BOXING. PAEROA, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13. The Waihi Boxing Association, which has enjoyed a very prosperous run for the past five years, has de-, cided to stage another of its tournament's in Paeroa on Tuesday next. For this event splendid entries have been received, and .the matching has been done so that the best results will be achieved. Included in the> programme is the meeting for the second time of Jim Colledge, the provincial featherweight champion, and Joe Smith, the South Auckland feather-weight champion. A good deal' of interest circles round this match owing to the fact that the decision of the referee at their former meeting in Aucklnad was not very favourably received. Another event of local, interest is the meeting of Viv. Smith, of Paeroa, and B. Gilbert ,of Turua, two welterweights. The winner of this match will try conclusions with the middleweight champion, J; Broadfoot, at Waihi shortly. The third star bout is the meeting of two feather-weights, •C. Broadfoot, Waihi, and L. McCoid, Turua. In all there will be ten events, and an excellent night’s entertainment is eagerly looked forward to. Seats may be reserved at Mr Flatt’s, stationer.
