PROHIBITION.

Sir, —Your correspondent “Gid Harry” is evidently somewhat muddled in hiss ideas of what is legislation and what is a majority vote or popular vote of the people. Mr F. BiHarry’s statement is by no means “contrary to fact.” He said “.the Alliance does not seek legislation tq achieve its object.” There is no misstatement in this. We want the licensing issue to be settled by ,a majority vote, and not by legislation from any Government. !Mr Harry’s Chirstian ethics are quite sound and in harmony with the great Leader Whb used' force and took a whip to drive out money-chargers from His Father’s House. The statement of increased drinking is absurd, and does not carry conviction. R. L. FURSDON.
