DAIRYING RETURNS.

PAY-OUT FOH AUGUST. INCREASED PRODUCTION SHOWN. Although warmdr weather and less rain in the district would be particularly welcome to siettlers just at this juncture, so that an increase in the spring growth of grass would result, the season is by no means backward compared with last year. From figures supplied by Mr W. H. Blakeway, secretary .of the Paeroa branch of the N. Z. Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., it is stated that a total, of 174 tons of butter was manufactured at the Paeroa, Ngatea, and Waihou butter factories during August, which amount is an increase of 14 tons on the figures for the three factories during the corresponding month last year The pay-out made by the Paeroa office on Saturday last for butter making'supplies to-August 20 amounted to £27,840, while a sum of £2,300 was paid for cheese-making supplies over the same period. The total butterfat received for butter-making was 341, 8971 by» for cheese-making, 30,5481 b. These figures show' an increase of 32, 7901 b for butter and 9000 pounds for cheese on last year’s, figures. The pay-out for August butterfat represents an advance payment of Is. 6d. per pound for first grade. During August there was no superfine grading. .
