DISTRICT NEWS.

NGATEA. TENNIS COURTS. A very generous offer by Mr T. A. McClean to provide the land and three concrete tennis courts has been accepted by the Ngatea Tennis Club. Tenders for the work of laying the courts and erecting fences and a pavilion will be called in a few days. The club is to pay a deposit, and the- balance of the cost of the land and the improvements will be paid by annual instalments over an extended period. Three trustees have been appointed by the club to act on its behalf until .the incorporation of the society.

TURUA. TOWN HALL. Matters in connection with the proposal to form a limited liability company to finance the building of a public hall in Turua are proceeding satisfactorily. Applications for shares are coming in steadily. The general committee appointed at the public meeting has appointed the following to be the provisional directors of the company: Messrs A. H. Rogers, chairman ; S. S. Murray, Piako Road; G. Gray, Orongo Road; J. Mules and S. G. Williams, Town area; A. H. Sutton and W. Madgwick, Huirau Road; and D. G. McMillan and J. A. Bennett, Hauraki Road South.

PIPIROA. CRICKET CLUB. The second annual general meeting of the Pipiroa Cricket Club was held on Wednesday last, Mr W. Ghhley presiding over a fair attendance of members,. The following officiate were elected for the 1925-26 season’: Patron, Mr J. Porter; president, Mr W. Ganley ; vice-presidents, Messrs D. O’Neil, H. Dalgety, D. McAulay, C. W. Parfitt, E. W. Wolfe, A. McDnald, H, Schwartz, J. Coote, T. We'ston, J. Clark, J. Motion, H. Waite, J. Neate, W. Murphy, I<. Murray, John Porter, J, H. Keith ; hbn. secretary and treasurer, Mr P. Clark; non auditor, Mr C. W. Parfitt; management committee, Messrs W. Ganley, J. Galvin, and C. W. Parfitt; delegates to association, Messrs F. Wallis and J. Galvin ; (selector, Mr C. W. Parfitt; umpires, Messrs D. McAulay, AV. Ganley, and J. Porter.
