STRAYING STOCK.

SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT. CAR DRIVEN INTO DRAIN. Yet another motor-car accident has happened through cattle being allowed to wander on the roads of the Hauraki Plains at night. On Thursday evening Dr. Lange, of Turua, was driving his car along Orchard East Road and struck a cow. The car was slightly damaged and the headlights were destroyed. With only the small parking lights and an electric torch held by a passenger the doctor proceeded towards Turua, but, failing to see the small bridge at the end of the road properly, he drove so close to the edge that one wheel was on the wheelguard at the side for some distance. When the car was fairly above the drain the wheel slipped off and the car toppled over into the drain. Neither of the occupants suffered injury. but the car was considerably damaged.
