PAEROA RUGBY UNION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The regular’ meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was held in Bain’s Rooms on Monday evening, Mr W. Pennell (chairman) presiding. A resolution expressing sympathy with Mr J. Clarkin, the Karnagahake representative on the committee, bh his. meeting with a serious accident was carried. ARTHUR MYERS CUP. It was resolved that the Arthur Myers, Cup, which has been held continuously by the East juniors, but which was won this season by the West junions, should be suitably engraved prior to presentation to the winners. DISQUALIFICATIONS LIFTED. The. notice of motion standing in the name of Mr D. A. Vincent in’ reference to reconsideration of the disqualification of Jack Rackham and E. King, two Karangahake players, was discussed. It was resolved that as the players in question hhd been disqualified for the season, which ends on September 19, they be permitted to take part in the Karangahake Oddfellows lodge match against the Paeroa' Oddfellows at Paeroa on September 26. LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH. Considerable discussion took place in regard to the Thames Valley v. Auckland match, played at Te Arolia last Saturday, and members freely expressed dissatisfaction with the standard of play of some of the members of the Auckland team. It was decided to write to the Thames Valley Union recording the Paeroa Union’s protest against the
weak team which had been sent to represent Auckland, and to suggest that no guarantee hsould bp paid until an expression of opinion had been obtained from other sub-unions. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £lO 15s were passed for payment.
