DEFERRED PAYMENT MADE. RECORD FOR LOCAL OFFICE. It is pleasing to learn that out of the large deferred payment made by the N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co. the Paeroa office quota was £125,608. This is a record payment for. the local office, and was distributed all over the Hauraki Plains, along the railway line from Thames to Morrinsville (excluding the Waitoa factory), and Waihi district. After working at high pressure tor several days and nights the office staff posted the last batch of cheques and statements on Monday morning. Some 1300-odd shareholders and suppliers participated in the payment, which has brought the butter-fat price tor the season tor butter-making up to Is 6V4, or Is With cartage and railage subsidy. There is a further payment to be made on May but-ter-fat,. which is included in the winter bonus..
The cheese suppliers' share of the £12'5,608 amounted to £17,445, the prices varying from lis 7d to Is This large sum of money circulating in the district should stimulate trade and indirectly assist in the progress of Paerea and the Plains and neighbouring towns.
