VETERINARY CLUB.
MEETING OF PLAINS BODY. The monthly meeting of the Farmers’ Veterinary Club eexcutive was held at Ngatea yesterday afternoon, Mr A. J. Andrews presiding over Messrs R. Burke, C. H. Waite, G. T. Daivdson, G. Phillipis, J. Darlington, C. W. Schultz, and Rowlings. MEMBERSHIP. Several new members were enrolled, including some who had recently resigned. APPRECIATION. In reply to the club’s letter of appreciation of the lecture recently given at Ngatea by Mr Wild, of the Agricultural Department, Mr T. H. Patterson, Instructor in Agriculture, Auckland, wrote stating that it was pleasing to learn that the advice given by Mr Wild in his lectuie and to farmers individually had been so thoroughly appreciated. He thought til at the club in fostering matters of agricultural instruction to its members was doing very useful work. The request for instruction concerning the acquisition of experimental plots would be gone into when Mr Wild returned to Auckland. SURGEON’S REPORT. ..The surgeon, Mr Jas. Costello, ieported that during tlie month he had attended or supplied medicines to eighty-one members. ACQUISITION OF MOTOR-CAR. Mr A. J. Andrews reported on the result of a canvass made to collect the outstanding debts due to the club. He had collected about £6O out of about £9O. which wap outstanding. He had not called upon every member. Various means of raising money were discussed, so that a new car could be purchased. Eventually' it was decided that a certain secondhand Ford be purchased, on terms subject to an examination by a competent engineer, and subject to a committee making terms with the surgeon as to maintenance and running expenses.
