PAEROA RUGBY UNION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held on Monday evening, the chairman (Mr W. Pennell) presiding, BANNER COMPETITION. It was resolved that the knock-out banner competition commence on Satturday, the draw for the first round being: Karangahake v. East, and West v. Netheiton. Play will commence at 2.30 p.m. sharp. Permission was granted the Karangahake club to draw not more than live players from the Suburbs club. It was also resolved that in the event of a drawn game each team would play an extra ten minutes each way, a force to count as one point, but a registered try to be given preference to three forces, MATCH WITH NGATEA. An application from the Ngatea club, winners of the Hauraki Plaints competition, to play the local senior champions (Netherton), was accepted, ajnd permission was given for the match to be played at Paeroa on Saturday, September 19. LODGE MATCH. The Paeroa Oddfellows Lodge was granted permission to play the Karangahake Lodge at the Racecourse on September 26, in view of the proceeds being donated to an injured lodge member, GROUND FOR HOCKEY. The Paeroa Ladies,' Hockey Club was granted permission to use a ground on Saturday, provided the match was finished before 2.30 p.m. CONGRATULATIONS. The secretary was instructed to convey the union’s congratulations to the Piako Uniom on winning the Frank ‘Poland Memorial Cup competition. Congratulations were also' extended to tlie Waihi Union, winners of the Sharebrokers’ Cup.

TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. , The following teams have been selected to take ,part in the Banner Competition at tlie Paeroa Racecourse on Saturday, play commencing at 2.30 p.m.:— East.—Full-back, A. Williams, V. Vuglar. Emergencies : W. Parker, D. Smith, T. Dawson, M. Beattie, C. Scliwaiike. West.—Full-back, B. Rae ; three-quar-ters, G. Wells, J. Verran, F. Keating ; five-eighths, L. C.
