PAEROA RUGBY UNION.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE, The weekly committee meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held in Bain’s Rooms on Monday evening, the Chairman (Mr W. Pennell) presiding. The chairman welcomed Mr J. Clarkin to the committee, and said he hoped he would fulfil tiie position as ably w did his predecessor, Mr Jones. . LODGE MATCH. An application, was received from the Paeroa Oddfellows; Lodge,. who have accepted a challenge from the Karangahake Lodge to a game of football, the proceeds of which will go to assist a Brother, for permission to use the ground. The matter was deferred until next meeting, when a suitable off Saturday will be arranged. RECOMMENDATION. It was unanimously approved that it be a recommendation to the next annual meeting to appoint Mr J. }V. T. Jones a vice-president of the union. PEACE CUP. Thus ecretary was instructed to write to the Thames Rugby Union congratulating them on their recent victory in the Peace Cup match. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The chairman was appointed manager of the senior representative team, journeying to To Arolia on Saturday, and Messrs . Clarkin and Vincent were appointed to entertain the two visiting teams, Piako juniors and third-grades. NEXT SATURDAY’S GAMES. LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES TEAMS. The following players have been selected to represent Paeroa against Piako at Te Aroha on Saturday in the inter-union competition for the Frank Poland Memorial Cup :— Full-back, G. Pullar. Dalgety, E. Cook. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVES. The following team has been selected to meet the Piako juniors at the Paeroa Racecourse on Saturday in the Sharebrokers’ Cup competition: — Full-back, J. Mead. Three-quarters, G. Wells, E. Potter, J. Verran. Five-eighths, R. Mead, R. J. Swann. Half-back, A. Hardman. Rover, G. Morrison. Forwards, Duncan, Lee, Scanlon, J. O’Brien, M. McLeod, T. Dawson, C. Treanor. Emergencies : Back, J. Rackham ; forwards-, N. Neil and- A. Rabinqon. All the above players are requested to assemble at the Paeroa Drillhall to-morrow evening at 7.30 for training and instruction. An player unable to play in the above matches are requested to advise the secretary immediately. THIRD-GRADE. The third-grade team to play Piako is as follows :— Craig, Leach, Smith, Harold, Barakat, Palmer, Gwilliam, Rowe, Gunn, Spinks, Hargreaves, Wilton, Hhll, Robinson, -Williams-.
