SOCCER.

GAME AT WAIHOU.

ANOTHER WIN FOR KEREPEEHI. The Kerepeehi team journeyed to Waihou to play the return match and emerged victorious by 4 goals tp 1. What was expected to be a hard game was spoiled of a lot of interest by the absence of the two Waihou full-backs, McKinstry and Lewis. Although playing a full team the handicap of lotsing these two good players was too great for Waihou, who, nevertheless, put up a. good fight and fully deserved the goal they scored. After 20 minutes of play Carson put over a nice centre for Shilton to ■open the Kerepeehi account. Just before half-time Hands gave-Shilton the ball to score the second. tOn resuming Kerepeehi attacked, and it was not long before the third goal was scored, Hands heading the ball through after a scrummage in Waihbu’s goal. Waihou then took a hand in the game, but the Kerepeehi defence was too good. After another attack by Kerepeehi Bushwell secured and, making no mistake, scored Kerepeehi’s fourth goal. Waihou attacked and Callendar was called upon to deal with a high shot, which he did su<> cessfully. Benefiting by the slackening off of the visitors, Waihou attack- ' cd on the left yving and Woodbridge, who had played a good game, scored tlie home team’s only goal. The — whistle sounded soon afterwards with the visitors winning by 4 goals to 1.

The game was not very beneficial to the Kerepeehi players, who slackened off. consider ably as a whole. They must not look upon the match as any preparation for their visit to Waihi next week, which will have to be taken more seriously. The fact that most of the men had been to a dance on the previous night did not leave them too lively for Saturday.
