CATHOLIC SOCIAL.
ENJOYABLE EVENING SPENT. Considering the adverse weather conditions prevailing last evening there was a good attendance ,at the Roman Catholic social and euchre tournament in the Gaiety Theatre. Those who did brave the elements spent a thoroughly enjoyable time. The floor was in good order, and the irresistible music dispensed by Mr B. Christian tempted a large number to dance. Mr J. M. Crosby carried but the duties of M.C. in an attentive manner.
The euchre tournament, conducted by Miss M. Shaw, attracted a failnumber of players, and after a spirited contest Mrs W. Grant carried off the first prize for the ladies, with Mrs G. S. Tayboys a close second. The men’s section was won by Mr L. Gibb, and Mr J. Simpson was second. Mesdames W. Pennell and J. White contributed extra music for dancing. An enjoyable supper was served during the evening by the committee.
