PAEROA HOSPITAL.
ERECTION IN BUICK FAVOURED. RESOLUTION BY COUNCIL. At the Paeroa Borough Council meeting last night satisfaction was expressed with the tenders received by the Thames Hospital Board for the erection of the Paeroa Maternity and Casualty Hospital. The following resolution was moved by the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall), seconded by Cr. de Castro, and carried unanimously:— "That this Council notes with appreciation the proposal to recommend the Hon. Minister for Public Health to accept a tender for the Paeroa Hospital, and respectfully suggests that in view of the favourable tender received for erection in brick it would be more advantagebus to the ratepayers in th Board’s district to erect the building in brick, and thi(s Council would ask for serious consideration of this suggestion.” Cr. Brenan favoured the resolution being forwarded to the Thames Hospital Board. Cr. Pinder said, thjit if built of brick the difference in the cost of Wood would be saved in a very short time in painting and maintenance repairs. Cr. de Castro thought that possibly the Mayor might look into the matter during his visit to Wellington.
