BASKETBALL.

SATURDAY’S GAMES. The second series of the second round in the Paeroa basketball competition was played at the High School on Saturday afternoon. Considerable interest was displayed by a fair number of spectators, as the competition has reached an interesting stage. The results were as follows :— Tui 10', v. Moana 10 ; Kiwi 35, v. Areta 16. The Paeroa High School- team, which journeyed to Waihi on Saturday, defeated the Waihi A team by 16 to 2, while the focal B team also registered a win, the scores being 8 to 5. A team from the Paeroa Primary School also made the journey to Waihi, and after an exciting game Uanaged to win by 7 to 6. Players are notified that all competition games have been postponed until after September 1, on account of school holidays.
