FIRE AT MANGAITI.

SHABEMILKER’S HOME BURNED. COTTAGE AND CONTENTS LOST. Shortly after nine o’clock on Saturday evening Mr F. M. Strange’s sharemilker’s cottage at Mangaiti was totally destroyed by fire. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery. The house, which w.as occupied by a Mr Vowles and his wife and family, Was left apparently safe earlier in the evening, and the occupants were away at Te Aroha when the outbreak was discovered. Nothing was saved, and the house, which was a five-roomed building, was razed to the ground. ,The contents were uninsured, and Mr Vowles is a heavy loser. It is understood that the ouilding Was insured for £250 in the Eagle, Star, and British Dominions office.
