GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. to-night. “ broken CHAINS.” The picture to be shown to-night features Colleen Moore, Claire Windsor, and Malcolm McGregor, with a strong supporting cast.' The scene commences at Long Island, where McGregor, as Peter Wyndham, shows cowardice during a hold-up at a brilliant ball. In his despair he goes to his lumber camp in the West, and there he discovers Mercy Boone, portrayed by Colleen Moore, who is ried to a man who keeps her bound in chains. Wyndham returns during Boone’s absence and releases Mercy from her shackles and plans for her escape. The plot comes to Boone’s ears, and he intercepts the two, and a thrilling climax ensues. SATURDAY NIGHT. “ THE SPEED DEMON.” The record cross-country dash from San Francisco to New York made by W’ally Van in an automobile for the filming of his latest starring vehicle, “The Speed Demon,” which is to be screened to-morrow night, was one AVitli no little excitement for Wally himself as well as for, thoise who will see the picture. While making the run Van is compelled to match nis wits against a cunning band of crooks, who, in an effort to keep him from accomplishing the feat, place obstacles in his path which not only play their parts in the picture but also cause Wally isoine severe bruises. At one section of the road Van was unable to continue his trip until attended by a physician. Barring the bruiises, the picture promises the fans as many thrills as Wally experienced.
