A handsome shield, suitably mounted and engraved, has been presented to the local Basketball Association by tlie membens of the Paeroa District High School Committee for annual competition, a condition being that the shield is to be housed at the Paeroa school. In making the presentation on Saturday evening the chairman (Mr C. H. Poscoe) isaid he hoped that competition for tlie shield would tend to foster love by ex-pupils, tor their old school, and that they would always display a keen interest in its welfare. Mr G. H. Taylor, president of the Basketball Association, suitably replied thanking the committee.
