PAEROA RUGBY UNION.
MEETING OF COMIMITTEiE. ' At a meeting of the executive of the Paeroa Rugby Union held on Monday evening the chairman (Mr J, W. fJones) presided over, a full attendance of members. F. Barakat was granted a clearance from the East third-grade team to the. West club, BIRCH CUP. The (secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange a home and home match with the Thames representative team, and also to ascertain particulars and conditions governing the Birch Cup competition. . RESIGNATION. Mr J. D. Crawford wrote tendering his resignation as an active referee on medical advice. In accepting his resignation with regret Messrs Jones and Crosby paid tribute to the services rendered by Mr Crawford in the interests, of footfall, in the district, and expressed the hope that he would tsoon be restored to good health. USE OF DRILL-HALL. The .application of the unitxn for the use oh the Drill-hall for the purpose of coaching the -senior and junior representative teams one night in ea.cn ■week wa; granted by the Defence authorities conditional on the caietaker or Mr Hodson being present to ensure that; the premises were left secure after practices, and the union accepting responsibility for the cost of lighting and any damage caused. The offer was accepted. RECOMMENDATIONS. ■ Mr Hodson moved the following re- , commendations for the consideration of the 1926 executive: ‘‘(1) That for the (season of 1926 all clubs register .■such intending players as they wism and that such players be posted to the various grades by the union executive; and (2) that ho player who, during the 1925 season, played in junior representative matches be allowed to play as a junior unless regraded by the union executive. ’ It was resolved to approve of the recommendations, and that they be placed before the annual general meeting. MATCH WITH AUCKLAND. On the motion of, Mr Welch it was decided to. recommend for the consideration of the Thames Valley Union the desirability of a representative match, preferably with Auckland; being played at Paeroa this season. DONATION OF MEDAL. The secretary intimated that Mr F.
E. Flatt had offered to donate .a medal for competition. It was decided to thank the donor, and the allocation of the trophy was deferred until next meeting. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES. In discussing the fixtures for Saturday Mr C. H. Potter intimated that if it would astsist the finances of tne union the Netherton senior team would be prepared to travel to Paeroa. Mr W. Pennell said that he had been in communication with the Suburbs team, and the players were also desirous of assisting the union and were prepared *o play their match at Paeroa. The chairman thanked the members and congratulated the teams on the Dim spirit shown. He naltl that the prospects of a good gale were certainly bolter ul, Pnoroii. The following fixtures wore made: ' Seniors. - Suburbs v. Netherton, at Paeroa, No. I ground, at 3 p.m.; East v. West, al Paeroa, No. 2 ground, at 3 p.m. Juniors.—-Possible v. Probable Reps,, al Paeroa, No. 1. ground, at 2 p.m. sharp. Third-grade. —East v. West combined, v. Paeioa School, at Paeroa, No. 2 ground, at 2 p.m. ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £6 Ils 8d were passed for payment.
