DAIRY PRODUCE.
HOME MARKET CONDITIONS. LONDON WEEK-END CABLE. In the latest week-end cable from London to the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., it. was stated that the market price for Anchor butter was 190 s, unsalted 1965, and Danish 188 s, f.0.b., with the market quiet. The Danish weakness was owing to large production, which caused an easing in the demand for New Zealand butter. This position would probably continue for a few weeks, until Danish production was reduced. The retail price for New Zealand butter was Is lid, Danish 2s with a possibility of a reduction to lisi lOd. White cheese was brinnigg 108 s, and coloured 107 s. The demand was slow at these prices. Canadian was bringing 105 s to 106 s c.i.f. The average stocks of New Zealand and Canadian held at July 1 totalled about 60,000 less than last year. There was an extreme shortage of English make, and with the increased consumption this created an extra demand for the colonial product.
