NGATEA,
FAREWELL TO SETTLER,
Residents of Ngatea and district assembled in force at the hall on Monday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. Foote, who have been resident at Rawerawe for the past eight yeans, and who are leaving shortly to take over a farm at Pongakawa, near Te Puke. The function took the form of a dance plcnteously interspersed with vocal items, and during the supper interval the guests were presented with a handsome tea service, set of teaspoons, and a cheque. Speaking on behalf of their many friends, Mr J. Neate said that by the departure of Mr and Mrs Foote from? the district they were losftrg a good settlor, an excollent noighhonr, and a staunch friend. Mr Foote’ briefly replied.
