FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the executive of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held in -Bain’s Rooms on Monday evening, the chairman (Mr J. W. T. Jones) presiding over a full attendance. REGISTRATIONS. The following registrations were accepted : East seniors, J. Pennell and C. Schwanke; junions, J. Adams and S. Ayers. Netherton juniors, B. goweth and N. Handley. REPLACEMENT OF PLAYERS. The adoption of a resolution passed by the Thames Valley Rugby Union with regard to an injured player 01 players being replaced after halftime, and of which notice of motion was given by a member of the Paeroa union to have same rescinded, was deferred until next meeting. SATURDAY’S JUNIOR GAMES. On the motion of Mr Potter, seconded by Mr Vincent, it was resolved that a previous resolution passed be rescinded, and that the postponed junior fixtures of May 30 be resumed on Saturday next. THIRD-GRADE TEAM. The representative .team chosen by Mr E. Shaw to play a similar team at Te Aroha on Saturday was approved. Mr- Vuglar was appointed manager, he and Mi' Welch to arrange transport. SCHOOLBOYS. . The chairman was appointed to meet the Waihi primary school team on arrival at Paeroa and to entertain them to luncheon at Mr D. Leach’s prior to the match, which was timed to start at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday. INTER-UNION MATCH. The secretary and Mr Vincent were ' deputed to make arrangements for the entertaining of the Hauraki Plains team- when visiting Paeroa on Saturday to play Paeroa in the Frank Poland Memorial Cup competition. A letter was received from Bennett, who was chosen to play in, the representative team against. Waihi on the 13th inst. After deliberating .on the matter, and upon the facts put forward' by the Suburbia delegates, the committee decided 1 that the secretary write to Bennett regretting the incident. OVERWEIGHT PLAYERS. The chairman pointed out that certain members in .the third grade were .over the maximum weight (9st 31b), and were thus ineligible to play under this code. On the motion of Mr Welch, seconded by Mr Pennell, it was resolved to acquaint Sinnett, G. Williams, and Dailey of the fact. GATEKEEPER. Mr Potter moveS, and Mr Neil, 'seconded, that Mr T. P. Vuglar be appointed gatekeeper at the next senior club match at Netherton. NETHERTON GROUND. Mr J. D. Crawford, referee, complained of the dead-ball line on the Netherton playing field. Mr Potter was deputed to have the same put in order. ADMISSION CHARGE. It was resolved that the charge for admission to the Paeroa ground on Saturday would be, lahdies Is, men Is, schoolboys free. PLAYERS’ TICKETS. The secretary was instructed to write to the. secretaries of the various clubs under the union intimating that no player would be admitted to either field unless he produced his ticket, to the official gatekeeper ap- . pointed, failing which he would have to pay the usual charge for admission. SELECTORS. It vas resolved that the senior ar.d ju ior selectors of clubs are empowered to call up a minor player to a major team, and such played failing to comply will be dealt with aecording.v by the union. STARTING TIME. Mr Hodson's motion that all senior matches start at 2.45 p.m. was lost. REFEREE’S REPORT. A complaint was received from the referee concerning the conduct of certain players in the junior match West v. Karangahake at Paeroa last Saturday. After a lengthy discussion and consideration of the statements of the referee and the Karangahake delegates it was resolved that J. Rackham and E. King, members of the Karangahake team, be disqualified for the remainder of the season. The committee pointed out the seri.osuness of such conduct towards a referee, who must be upheld by tne union and respected by the players. The secretary was instructed to request the local constable to be in attendance on Saturday at the Paeroa playing field. SATURDAYS FIXTURES. Matches to be played on Saturday will be as follows: — Inter-union Match. —Hauraki Plaine w. Paeroa, at Racecourse, 3 p.m., Mr Dunstan. -Junior Club Competition—East v. West, at Racecourse, 2.30 p.m. (No. '2 ground), J. D. Crawford. Karanga- ' hake v. Netherton, at! Netherton, 2.30 p.m., F. Pivbtt. Primary Schools. —Paeroa v. Waihi, at Racecourse, 1.45 p.m. (No. 1 ground), E. Smith.
