JERSEY SALE.

CHASE FARM STOCK. At the Claudeland’s Showgrounds on Friday last the Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Auctioneering Co., Ltd., held a sale of surplus pedigree Jersey cattle on account of Messrs W. J. Hall and Sons, Chase Farm, Matatoki. There was a good attendance of buyens from all parts, including three from North Auckland. Bidding was not keen. Several lots were passed, but after the sale the majority of the tots were quitted, and on the whole the sale was quite satisfactory.

The 20 cows and heifers averaged 45 guineas, and the 12 bulls 24 guineas. The highest price obtained was 75 guineas for the cow Orange Dale’s Pansy, purchased by Mr J. L. Clark, of Gordon, and Mr J. Karl, of Pateranga, paid 60 guineas for the cow Pamelia’is Linnet. The cow Briar Chase was sold to- Mr H. Hopkins, Hinuera, for 52 guineas’, and the cow Mauriaena Lobelia to Mr R. Clark, 'Hamilton, for 50 guineas. Other sales ■of females were : Mr J. H. Johnson, Kaipaka, 31gns. ; Henderson Bros., Horsham Downs, 19gns. ; A. Nisbet, Whangaroa,. 40g.ns and 40gns ; Mr S.
