POWER IN BULK.

SALE TO BOROUGHS.

PLANTS WANTED BY BOARD. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board Mr J. Price (Matamata) moved that the Te Aroha and Thames boroughs be requested to put a price on their plants, as it was .absolutely necessary for the power board to have control over plants within its reticulation area, as it could then control its peak load and the power that was consumed each month.

' The boroughs’ peaks, said Mr Price, were not always the board’s peak, and the board often had power running to waste. Administratoiu charges could also be reduced. At present he did not think the power board was making any profit, from the supply of power to the two boroughs mentioned. The chairman (Mr F. H. Claxton) said that the question now was whether the boroughs referred to would sell.

The motion was seconded by Mr J. B. Thomas (Morrinsyille) and carried.
