During the course of the junioi’ game between Karangahake and Wes: at Karangahake on Saturday afternoon ,> Karargaliake player, Ben McGuire, aged 18 years, received an accidental bump which 1 ecessitated his removal to the Waihi Hospital on Saturday night. It appears that in a loose rush M'Guir.e had jtrst got rid cf the bail wl en a West player accidentally st’-ucfc McGuire in the region of the kidneys with his shou'der. The injury was momentarily painful, but McGuire continued to play until the. end of the game and cycled home afterwards. Shortly after reaching home he collapsed, and the pain was severe. Hot fomentations were applied. and Dr. Little Was sent tor. After making an examination the doctor ordered the sufferer to be removed to the Waihi Hospital. . ■On inquiries being made this morning it was learned that the patient was easier, 1 ut was being kept undw close observation until the extent o? the injury ip ascertained. McGuire is a son of Mr A. D. McGuire, fofrerran of the Thames Valley Power Boards depot at Paeroa.
