DISTRICT NEWS.

KEREPEEHI. PLUNKET SOCIETY. The annual meeting of J’.e Herepeehi branch of the Royal Society for the Protection of Wome > and Children was held in the 'fall on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs J. Mur.bck presiding over an attendance of twelve. The annual report, tiaied that since the branch was formed in October, 1924 it had only been possible, on account of the epidemic, to hold two meetings. The membership totall-u'. 31, but it was very necessary to increase this to at least 60. The receipts had amounted to £22 18s 3d, and the expenditure to £23 16s, leaving a debit balance of 17s 9d. Officers appointed for the year were : President, Airs E, Taylor ; vicepresidents, Mesdames Frccklington and AV.. Shilton ; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Bojswell. The Plunket nurse, Miss Cox-Smitlr, reported that from November, 1924, when the branch was formed, until March 31, 1925, the end of the financial year, she had made 19 visits to the centre, and the attendance at the room had been 108 mothers, 107 babies, 19 visitors and children, and one expectant mother. AH mothers and babies were progressing satisfactorily. The action of the executive committee in wending a letter of appreciation and thanks to Nurse CoxSmith, and expressing regret at her departure and best wishes for the future was approved. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Hoff for the gift of a chair for the waiting-room,.and to Mrs Loudon for the manner in which she had cairied out the secretarial duties.

train Upon representations having been made on behalf of the Hauraki Plains a grant of £lO had been made. This was to be shared between the Ngatea and Kerepeehi tsub-branches,

The secretary stated that an effort would be made to secure a refund of the £9 10s incurred before the subsidisation was discontinued.

Hayward ; vice-presidents, Mesdames Anderson and Bratlie: secretary, Mrs Motion ; treasurer, Mns Terrill; executive committee, Mesdames Coppins, Dudding Vbwles, H. li> win, Parfitt, Terri]], Loudon, Taykw, and McDuff.

The following were added to the advisory board: The Rev. Charteris, Mr F. C. Robinson, and Mr W Wylde.
