The iollowing records for the mouui were presented at yesterday’s meeting oi die Thames Valley Electric Power Board at To, Arolia:— MANAGERS REPORT. ••■Telephones have now been installed, in the assistant engineer’s house at Te Arolia and the distribution engineer’s house at' Morrinsvllle. •Poles.—Owing io the increased rates of ti,eight now operating lor'tie»livery by steamer to Auckland a further charter of the Louis Theriault lias been made for 1100 pules of assorted sizes. There are ump.lc poles in transit and in stock until, this shipment arrives.

•On April 23, at, tne Magistrate’s Court, Matamaia, two prosecutors for malting connections on the Hat rale supply without notifying and paying tne Board for the electricity used were heard. Mr Gilchrist, the Board’s solicitor, appear, and two convictions were recorded, one being fined £5 and costs' auu the £3 and. costs. I have instructed all the troublemen to make of installations in their territories where consumers are known to be fraudulently using electricity on the flat rate isupply. This will be an additional inspection.

‘ Mr Goudie, of the State' Forestry Department, inspected a property for pole growing purposes, and also- discussed costs, etc., with the chairman, engineer, and myself. Upon receipt of Mr Geudie’s report the Pole Comihii.lee will bring the matter before you. "I have pleasure m advising that the four borough representatives were returned unopposed. The members were Messrs Claxton, Arthur, Flatt, and Howie, representing the boroughs of Thames, Te Arolia, Paeroa, and Morrihsville.

“A rather serious accident happened to A, Coomb on Wardville Road on April 15, at 10.45 a.m. He received bu’ns on his right arm, through coming in contact with a live 400-230-voit service line.

“There is a special report before you this day regarding the accident, and l»would recommend, in order to avoid any repetition, that the inspectors in each district take/with them the plugs for making the line alive Avnen testing and inspecting, and the linesmen erect the cutouts without plugs. This will avoid any possibility of a further accident. ; 'Consumers. —The total number of, consumers connected to the Board’s mains at April 30, 1925, was 4840', which includes the boroughs of Te Areha and Thames. During the mouth 53 lighting and heating consumers, 1 stove, 5 water-heaters, and 2 2-h.p. milking motors were connected on the, flat rate, together with' 1 2-h.p., 1 3-h.p. and 1 30-h.p. motor on meter rates. The number of motors connected and operating on farms vs 1215, of which 1085 are 2-h.p. milking motors Quite a number of farmersintend installing motors for the next milking season, and I, have advised them that the Board will make the installations at any time, and will not charge for the electricity or the installations until they commence using the motors.” ENGINTEER’S REPORT. liicliKled in the engineer’s report was the following :— ‘Paeroa Section. —The erection of poles and the wiring of E.H.T. an 1 low tension circuits on Bond’s Roa I have been completed. A transformer platforiii is at .present under construction. “Waitakaruru.—The continuation of the main line to Haly’s Comer is proceeding. All the poles have been erected, and the wiring of the. 11,000volt circuit is in hand. Poles have been distributed along the Mahutu Road, and eross-anning will be commenced at an early date. The 11,000vo!i cable crossing at Pipiroa has been completed, and the connecting link was made alive on April 24*. •‘ .Vaihi Borough.—The reticulation of the Hues authorised in the east end has been completed. A transformer plali'orm has been constructed and connection made on to the 1 1,000 L volt line to the Grand Junction mine. Supply to the borough quarry was commenced on April '3O, and lighting consumers will be connected up duri»ig the next few days.” -
