KOPUARAHI. r At no place on the Hauraki-Plains is so much interest taken in school matters by the people of the district as at Kopiiarahi. Voluntary labour ami donations are given freely, and this meets with the approbation: of the Edv cation Board and Department, whose policy it .is, according to the Minister for Education, when speaking at Kopuarahi some time ago, to help those districts which help themselvcp. The total amount of receipts from all sources for the year made - £291, and of this £257 has been spent. When opened the school was what was termed a shelter-shed school, but the porch attached proved unsatisfactory, and efforts made had resulted in a grant being obtained for a separate shed. Votes of thanks'were passed to the Turua and Kopuarahi school committees for the assistance rendered in getting the school established at Orongo; to the teachers for their good work, and to .Mr T.
