After the long enforced holiday the Anglican Sunday School is opening again on Sunday afternoon, the main school in the Parish Hail and the kindergarten in the church.
It is now learned from the Lands Drainage Engineer that the delay, in the metalling of Kaihere Road has been necessitated by the fact that the clay formation is still subsiding, and not by the, shortage of metal (supplies.
The shooting season opened this morning. As soon as it was daylight the sound of shot-guns could be heard, in all directions, the clear, bright morning being conducive to the travelling of sound.
The official recount of the votes recorded for the candidates for municipal. honours took place yesterday afternoon. Messrs C. B. Gentil and G, E. Allen acted as scrutineers. There were several alterations, the most notable being that Mr J. Pinder, who tied with Mr H. M. Shand for the position of eighth place, scored one more vote, which places him as a member of the council, defeating the retiring member, Mr Shand, by that narrow margin.
The annual meeting of householders for the purpose of presenting the annual report and balance-sheet and the election of a committee for the Paeroa. District High School for the ensuing year is to be held in the Soldiers' Chib. Paeroa on Monday at 7.30 p.m. It is hoped that parentis will evince some interest in the,progress .of the school and attend the meeting. It is understood that the school has passed through a record year, and it is only fitting that there should be a large attendance.

Through the columns of the issue, which is profusely illustrated, mothers may learn, the principles of mothercraft .and their application; they may received advice upon problems Laving to do with their own health and that of their children. The reading matter contained in the issue is drawn from the first-grade sources of such knowledge in Melbourne and its environs.
