WEDDING BELLS.

SHERSON’-McCLINCHY. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. .Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Paeroa, on April 15, the . contracting parties being Mr Victor J. Sherson, vspn of the late Mr W- Slierson and Mrs Joseph Pennell, Paeroa, an-1 Miss Eleanor ,M. . McClinchy, daughter oftMr aiid Mrs J. McClinchy, of , Paeroa. The Rev. Father Dunphy officiated.. The bride, who was given away by her elder brother, Mr J. Mcclinchy, .wore brocaded satin with tunic of silver lace, with the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet. She was attended by Misses Jessie MeLachl.an (Auckland) and Joan Kilbride (Matamata), Mlsh- McLachlan was dressed in a lavender figured silk marocain, with black hat, ami Miss Kilbride in pale blue i’.mure, with ostrich feather trimming and black hat'. Misses Mary. 'McClinchy and-Elsie May, dressed in pale pink silk, and Misses Merva Pennell and Corrie Berkhout, in pale blue silk, were flowei'-girls, the posies being made by Mns Simpsqn.'The bride--broom was supported by Mr R. McClinchy as best man and Mr M. Beattie aw groomsman.

Sixty-four guests were present it the reception, which was l eld in the Soldiers’ Club, among those present •being Mrs Manning (Wellington), sister of the bride’s mother ; Mr and- Mrs Muir and Mrs Dunbar (Thames), the Rev. Father Taylor (Matamata), the Rev. Father Dunphy and the Rev. F. B. and Mrs Dobson (Paeroa). The bridegroom’s presents to the bridesmaids were gold wristlet watches and the flower-girls each received gold brooches, . In the evening a dance was held in the Soldiers’ Club. The music was supplied by Mr M, C. Smith’s orchestra, and during the evening local talent contributed vocal and instrumental items.

The bride’s travelling dress was a fawn embroidered costume, with shoes and stockings to match, black hat, and mole fur cbat.
