POSTAL TRANSFERS.
CHANGES IN THE DISTRICT. RESULT OF RETIREMENTS. Quite a number of promotions and transfers in the Postal Department have occurred recently, consequent upon the fact that a number of older members of the staff are retiring on -superannuation. Mr R. H. Boyd, chief postmaster, Thames, is promoted to chief postmaster at Hamilton,- and is succeeded by Mr R. Peebles, now postmaster at Stratford. Mr E. L. McLean, accountant at Thames, is transferred to Napier. Mr J. G. McDougall, who retires at the end of the month from his position as postmaster at Paeroa,- is being replaced by Mr W. E. Ward, now posmaster at Huntly.
