BOWLING.

EASTER TOURNAMENT. FINALS NOT COMPLETED. The full-ring progressive bowling tournament which was arranged by the Paeroa Bowling Club was played di-ring the Easter holidays, and commenced at 9 o’clock on Good Friday morning, and proved an unqualified success. The Hikutaia Club sent up three rinks, ami these players joined in with the members of the local club. The weather on Friday was rather boisterous at times, and was hardly conducive to the finer points of the game being successfully played. Still, a full day was put in on the rinks, and the players thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Perfect weather prevailed on Saturday and Monday, and the green was in very good playing condition.

Nine rinks.took part in the tournament, and although the competition was continued until dusk on Monday evening the finals were not completed. Following are tlie details to date:— First Round.—Stevens, Wait ting, Pinder, F. Marsh (skip) 18, v. Bayfield, Holes, Hamilton, P. H. Smith (skip) 15; Gibb, Forrest, Ellis, Towers (skip) 19, v. Taylor 9. The final games for the trophy will probably take place on Saturday afternoon next between G. H. Taylor, W: Purdie, and W. J. Towers, each nf whom have seven wims to his credit.
