BANKRUPTCY MEETING
• PROCEEDINGS POSTPONED. COURT METHODS UNPOPULAR.The business methods of the Auckland. Official Assignee are surely def serving of adverse comment. Fbr the second time in Paeroa a meeting of creditors of a bankrupt was postponed at the last moment .without due notice of the fact being given to the creditors. By direction of the Official Assignee a meeting of creditors of a bankrupt farmer was set down for hearing at the Courthouse, Paeroa, yesterday morning. A number of creditors attended, including a woman who had travelled from Whakatane at considerable expense and inconveni- > ence to herself, only to find that, on arrival at the Courthouse, the examination of the bankrupt had been postponed by direction of the Official Assignee. It is reasonable to expect that creditors, and especially those who have to travel a considerable distance, should be advised in time that the examination has been postponed. Considerable indignation was expressed by the creditors who assembled yesterday.
