SATURDAY’S MATCHES. PAEROA V. WAIHI. The return inter-club match between Paeroa and Waihi was played on the local courts on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a win for the visitors by 6 games. Although no rain fell a stiff north-westerly wind prevailed, and conditions were rather boisterous at times, Following are the results, Paeroa players being mentioned first in each instance

The Waitakaruru Tennis Club, the holders of the Howell. Wilbums Memorial Shield, was twice called upon last week to prove its right to hold the trophy. On Thursday the Patetonga Club almost secured it, the deciding set going to nine l all, and it was agreed that the next game would be the deciding factor. Waitakaruru won this game and retained the shield. On Saturday the Hikutaia Club’s team secured the trophy by winning nine Sets to Waitakaruru’s four. Particulars of the scores are not available.
