In America albne there are over 1500 automobile finance companies which help purchasers and finance the buying ot cars to the extent of 75 per centfl of the automobile output of America, In Australia and Ne.w Zealand most motor; agents sell oh extended terms, and finance companies take over the responsibility. There is probably no line of business throughout the world which offers greater temptation to the user to buy in excess of his means than does the automobile trade, and in America at all events an endeavour is being made to curg- the evils of very long-time payments, running into periods of up to two yeans, by which time many light runabouts are partly worn out.
