SCHOOL WORK.

PAEROA DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.

HOME STUDIES FOR CHILDREN.

The extended closing of the schools through the epidemic is a matter of grave concern to the parents and teachers, interested as they are in the education of the children. The difficulty of reaching the homes has been the reason for delay in the matter of giving homework in order that the children may do something for themselves in overcoming the years’ work. By arrangement with the “Hauraki Plains Gazette” this difficulty has now been overcome, and in future issuer the homework for each class will be set out, and parents are invited to co-operate with teachers in seeing that the work is done and posted to the school, where the teachers will correct the work and post the results back.

In the meantime parents are .advised to buy at the local booksellers the required books for the different standards. The following list hajs been supplied by Mr G. H. Taylor, headmaster, and inquiries may be made at the school: —

Standard VI. —Progressive Arithmetic, S 6 ; Lessons in English, S 6 ; Story of British Nation, S 6 ; Pacific Geography, S 6.
