A meeting OF OWNERS of Motor Cars, Motor Vehicles, and others interested in Paeroa and surrounding districts, will be held in the County Chambers, Paeroa, on Wednesday, 18th inst., at 8 p.m., to consider the formation of a local branch of the Automobile Association. AT the instance of the Education Department, the Board will hold Refresher Courses for the Teachers during the week beginning February 23rd at Auckland, Hamilton, Paeroa, and Whangarei. Inspectors will be in charge of the various Centres. The Department will defray the cost of railway fares for distances not exceeding 60 miles, but no other expenses. All teachers within a radius of sixty miles must attend at one Centre. Teachers are required to immediately notify the Board at which Centre they will attend. E. C. PURDIE, Secretary. IN connection with the “Refresher” Courses for Teachers to be held during the week beginning February 23rd, I am directed to intimate: — 1. The Education Department will allow no travelling expenses up to ten miles. 2. The Department will allow only one railway return fare from ten to sixty miles. 3. The Department will pay return fare by any public conveyance other than train to a maximum cost of one pound. 4. It is desirable that teachers attending be provided with a suitable costume in which to take part in physical training. 5. Training College Students, Pupil Teachers, and Probationers arc not expected to attend. 6. Teachers now visiting another Education District may attend the Centre for that District, but should notify the Employing Board. 7.
