All parades affecting the local territorial of the Hauraki Regiment are cancelled until further notice.
Six building permits, totalling approximately £1633, were granted at last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council.
The formation work on Dulcie and Flora streets has now been completed, and a start is to be made shortly to metal Dulcie Street. Coronation Street ft as been rolled, and metal is now being spread.
'.fhe results of the All Black football matches to be played at Vancouver are expected in Auckland about midday on the 15th and 22nd instants, and .will bo telephoned to all exchanges then open. The Paeroa postmaster, Mr J. G. McDougall, advises that the results should re'ach the local office about -5 p.m. on the dates mentioned.
An effort is being made by the •motorists of Paeroa and district to assist the Auckland Automobile Association in its campaign for members by forming a branch of the A.A.A. in Paeroa. For this purpose a public meeting is being held in the County Chambers on Wednesday evening next. Mr E. A. Porritt, from whom all information can be obtained, is the convener.
At the instance of the Education Department tlie Auckland Education Board will hold refresher courses for the teachers during the week beginning February 23, at Auckland, Hamilton, Paeroa, and Wh.angarei. All teachers are required to promptly notify tlie Board of Education at which centre they propose to attend, and all within a radius of 60 miles must attend at one centre. The department will defray fares for distances not exceeding 60 miles, but no other expenses. Inspectors will be in charge at the various centres. .
At. last night’s meeting of the Paero.a Borough Council the Finance Committee reported that the revenue for January amounted to £l4*Bo 18s, and the expenditure totalled £306 13s 3d. The debit balance in the sewerage loan account (not including £450 advanced by the district fund account) was £4896 15s 9d. The street improvements account showed a debit balance of £2364 6s sd. The Domain improvements loan account had a credit balance of £899 8s 7d, and the district fund account a credit balance of £1875 Is 7d.

The Hamilton Motor Cycle Club’s, meeting, the Wellington Swimming Carnival, and fhe Nor.thcote and Birkenhead regatta occupy prominent portions. The stage and motion picture world provide an exceptionally striking section.
