Tattersail, late of the N.Z. Co- ■ oeprative Dairy Co., Ltd. These men, together with one other —probably from Palmerston North — have been chosen by an English _syn- < dicate, which has taken up an area of some 8000 acres of sugar cane-land at Navua with the idea of breaking it in for dairying purposes. A large sum ol money is available for ex- . penditure, and it is intended to cut—• tne land up into 150-acre dairy farms. Sheds will be built on each farm, and later on butter factories will be erected.’ Other land will be taken in hand when the present area is brought in. The island cows will be milked until sufficient Friesian stock is imported. It is understood that much initial work, including the construction ot motor reads, will have to be undertaken, Native labour being employedsL' The scheme will be under the supervision of Mr A. Tattersail, and each ot the three young men will probably have the management of ■separate areas. The instructions of the syndicate to its representative was to select young, practical farmers of marked .ability, - ” and it is an honour to the Hauraki Plains to have bvo of the three men required chosen from that district. Messrs Wallis and Williams, together with Mr Tattersail, who is well known in this district, will, carry with them the heartiest good wishes fo success in their new sphere.
