PURSUANT io section 7 of “Thfe Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908,” I hereby give notice that an election will be held on Wednesday, the 25th day of February, 1925, for the purpose of electing one Councillor for the Turua Riding of the County of Hauraki Plains in place of Mr William .Madgwick, resigned: and I hereby appoint the County Chambers, Ngatea, as the place, and Monday, the 16th day of February, 1925 (before .noon), as the day for the nomination of candidates for such office. Loan of £3lOO for the purpose of paying off the balance of the Orchard Bridge Loan and of the liability to Ohinemuri County Council in respect of Waihou (Puke) Bridge Loan. OTICE is hereby given 1. Thai it is the intention of the Hauraki Plains County Council under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto respectively and of the Hauraki Plains County Council Empowering Act, 1924, and of ail other Acts, if any, it in that behalf enabling, to raise by way of loan the sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred Pounds and the sum of One Thousand Four Hundred Pounds ovei’ the County of Hauraki Plains for the ■ purpose of paying off the balance of the Orchard Bridge Loan and its liability to the Ohinemuri County Council in respect of the Waihou (Puke) Bridge Loan respectively. 2. That as security for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and • other charges on the said loan it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the £ upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the County of Hauraki Plains.

3. That it is the intention of the said Council to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year. 4. The loan is for a period of 36V years at such rate of interest not exceeding so much as may be authorised under section 11 of the Finance Act, 1921, together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinking fund. Pursuant to section 10 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a Poll of the Ratepayers of the County of Hauraki Plains on the proposal to raise the abovementioned loan will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the 11th day of March, 1925, at the following polling places : — Public Hall, Patetonga Public Hall, Kaihere. Public Hall, Waitakaruru Mr. D. McAulay’s house, Pipiroa Public Hall, Ngatea School Shelter-shed, Kopuarahi Turua Buildings, Turua Public Hall, Kerepeehi Public Hall, Netherton.
