HERD TESTING.
HAUKAKI PLAINS GROUPS. RETURNS FOR DECEMBER. The following returns from the Hauraki Plains groups for the month of December have been supplied by the N.Z. Co-operative Herd Testing Association, Hamilton: — Neiherton Group.—The highest herd, with 31 cows, averaged 41.171 b fat; the lowest herd, with 56 cows, averaged 20.751 b fat. The highest cow in the group produced 73.08ib fat, and the lowest cow 5.401b' fat.
Shelly Beach.—The highest herd, with 76 cows, averaged 38.411 b; the lowest herd, with 41 cows, averaged 22.9111:. The highest cow in the group produced 70.471 b, and the lowest cow 9.001 b.
Turua. —The highest herd, with 57 cows, averaged 40.'.941b fat; the lowest herd, with 65 cows, averaged 27.101 b fat. The highest cow produced 76.321 b, adn the lowest cow 7.691 b fat. Waitakaruru.—The highest herd, with 25 cows, averaged 38.291 b fat; the lowest herd, wjth 40 cows, averaged 19.751 b fat. The highest cow produced 67.201 b, and the lowest cow 6.241 b fat.
The best cow in the association’s area gave 28051 b milk, with a 4.2 test, producing 117.811 b fat. The lowest cow produced 1201 b milk, with 3.0 test, giving 3.601 b fat.
