PUNCTURES ON TE AROHA, ROAR. ”
FORTUNATE ESCAPE
While travelling homo to Te Aroha from Waihi by ear on Wednesday last_ an accident which might have had serious consequences happened to Mr - A. Smardon. When nearing Tirohia one of the rear tyres was punctured, and while Mr Smardon was endear- ' , o'iring to right the car the front tyre on the same side blew out. Before , < Mr Smardon could stop the car it capsized and turned right over, with Mr Smardon and a passenger under- , neatb. Fortunately they were not hurt. They scrambled from under the car and with the help of some , i: passeis-by righted it, and after mending the tyres resumed their journey’ home. The wind screen and bows of the hood were the only parts of the car damaged.
