NGATEA. DENTAL CLINIC. A though the timber for the schoJ dental clinic has arrived, the ejection of the building will be deferred unt>. the plans have ueeu appieveil. The granting of a subsidy has necessitated this. HORSE SALE. The Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd, held a horse, sale at Ngatea on Monday last, but little demand existed and prices were low. KEBEPEEHL A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. A general meeting of the Hauraki Plains A. and P. Association was held at Kcrepeehi on Monday evening, Mr P. R. Henry presiding over a small attendance. Various committees were appointed and arrangements made for the running of the show. The president reported that only one tender had been received for the grazing lease of the showground, but the tenderer had later declined to go on. It was decided to hold the matter in abeyance until after the show, and Mr W. Herkt was appointed caretaker of the ground. HIKUTAIA. TENNIS. Although the weather has been so unsettled, the members of the Hikutaia tennis team were well satisfied with their day on Saturday last in the matoli against the Thames Methodist team on the Thames courts. The visitors were cordially welcomed by the Rev. Ashcroft, president of the Methodist Club, who said that he hoped his team would soon return the visit. Both teams were handicapped, as some of their leading players were absent.

Men’s Doubles: Spencer and Elliot lost to Dauby and Sextbn, 2—9 ; Gibb Brots. lost to Currie and Gwynne, 4—9; Paetai and Samson lost to Judd and Twentyman, 4— Ladies’’ Doubles : Misses Gibb beat Miss Forrest and-Mrs Glover, 7__2 ; Mrs Alexander and Miss Mor J risen lost to Mrs McCleary and Miss Gleeson. 6 —7. ■ Combined : Miss Morrison and Samson beat Miss Gleeson and Tweutyman, 7 —5. Totals: Hikutaia 58, Thames 88..
Owing to some members having to return Jt»y train they were unable to finish ail the sets, the first combine being omitted altogether.
