GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES-TO-NIGHT NOT A DRUM WAS HEARD. Popular as Charles Jones’ western pictures have always been, none of them ever attracted more favourable attention than the William Fox version of; the story by Ben Ames Williams, “Not a Drum was Heard,” which is to be shown to-night. The story of two friends in love with the same girl and living the rough life of the old west has proved to be one of the must romantic Jones ever attempted, and he has done well. A capable cast, with Betty Bouton in the principal feminine role, gives him excellent support. WEDNESDAY NIGHT. EAST LYNNE. The much-discussed film sensation "East Lynne,” by Mrs Henry Woods, wil) be shown on Wednesday night. Its popularity has been phenomenal in its book form, and as a picture it has had no equal. A 'plot ot the present moment, embracing all the thrills, emotions, and exciting elements the minds of men could possibly conceive, suggest, or imagine. It is'a wonderful story, and not many eyes remain tearless during the unfolding of the’ story it tells so realistically. Also the master merrymaker of the movies, Charlie Chaplin, will be seen in a hurricane of fun entitled “The New Reporter.” In addition the famous production “-The Sin Flood, with an all-star cast, will be screened, the public thus being afforded an opportunity of seeing a triple star programme.
