That Paeroa is being recognised as a shopping centre where selection, good value, and prompt and. obliging attention are obtainable has been clearly demonstrated during the past week by the large number of people who have visited the town for the purpose of making their Christmas purchases. It must indeed be very encouraging to the local businessmen to find that their efforts this year to eater adequately for a particular publie have been recognised. By the combined efforts of the local tradesmen tiie shops this year have been efficiently and thoroughly well stocked with goods from the world’s markets. Concentration on effective window displays has been carried out, and a.-, the window of a shop gives a fair indication of the stocks and variety of goods obtainable within, it ■can be said with confidence that the retail stores in Paeroa this year compare more than favourably with any other town in the province. Every indication is given that to-day will be a record one for business. Long before midday the principal streets bore a busy appearance, and inside the shops tiie attendants appeared to be fully occupied with the requirements of eager purchasers.
