THE Hauraki Plains Gazette With which is incorporated THE OHINEMURI GAZETTE. Motto: Public Service. MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, & FRIDAY. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19, 1924. LOCAL AND GENERAL.

The All Blacks played the twentysixth game of their tour on Wednesday at Plymouth against Hampshire. They continued their victorious career by defeating the County by 22 to 0. The New Zealanders have only two games to complete their English programme. After an interval of ten days they will meet the London Counties at Twickenham. This will be their second game with the combined side, which they accounted for on November 15 by 31 points to 6. On January 3 will come the most important game of the tour, when the English International side will be played. The weather locally still remains unsettled. Yesterday there was a decided drop in the temperature, and several light showers of ram fell during the day. Early this morning an easterly wind developed, accompanied by heavy rain. About 8 o’clock the wind changed to the north-east. The actual amount of rain that has fallen is not very great, but there has been sufficient to delay harvesting operations for some time. The cooler weather during the past couple of days has been very welcome. We have to acknowledge receipt of attractive wall calendars from Messrs D. Leach, W. M. Sorensen, F. E. Flatt, A. E. Say and Co., A. S. Paterson and Co., and F. J. Wells and Sons. This week’s issue of the “N.Z. Sporting aud Dramatic Review” is abundantly featured. Of special interest are tire photographs of the arrival of the new Governor-General tmd family. The Waipa Racing Club’s meeting at Te Awamutu will be of interest, and the AU Blacks’ match at Manchester will be closely followed. The centre pages artistically display bathing beauties, mannequins, baseball and cowboy champions. A page of striking fashions, a frontispiece of Gladys Moncrieff, social, stage, and motion pictures, make up a delightful number.
