Mr J. W. Walker, district overseer for the Public Works Department, was in Paeroa on Friday afternoon. Captain W. R. Burge, M.C. and bar, N Z.S.C., area officer 28, Gisborne, arrived in Paeroa on Saturday afternoon and is staying with Major Andrews, 0.8. E., N.-Z.S.C. Captain Burge has been appointed to the position oi adjutant of the Ist Battalion, Hauraki Regiment, vice the late Captain H. Peacock,
