GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT THE BACK TRAIL. Jack Hoxie’s most beautiful scenic production, “The Back Trail,” which is to be shown to-night, is a drama of heart interest, teeming with gripping mystery. Jeff Prouty, a wounded war veteran is identified at a Jaurez gambling hall as a native of Chinook by Gentleman Harry King, a gambler. King tells him that he is wanted at home for a train robbery, which Jeff denies as his memory had been impaired by shell-shock. The gambler also tells him that his fathre had died, leaving a large ranch to Jeff’s foster sister, and for half interest he would help him to obtain: the inheritance. TO-MORROW NIGHT. CHASTITY. Katnerine MacDonald, who will appear in her newest offering, “Chastity,” does not go in for “flapper stuff,” although she does not disapprove of it. “Flappers are fine,” declares this star. "I like them, and I am not one of those who condemn •flnpperfem’ simply because it is the popular thing to do. It just does not suit my particular style of dress and behaviour —that’s all. But the flapper has a lot more brains than her critics give her credit for. she knows how tc capitalise youth.” In “Chastity” Miss MacDonald appears as an actress at whose feet all New York its worshipping. Others in the cast are Huntley Gordon, Frederick Truedell, Edthye Chapman, Gunnis Davis, and Russell Wood.
