HORAHIA DRAINAGE AREA

ELECTION OF BOARD. VERY HEAVY POLLING. The poll to elect the board to administer the newly constituted Horahia Drainage District was held yesterday. Great interest was taken, and the polling was very heavy. There were 134 names on the roll, including absentees, and these were entitled to 284 votes. In all, 231 votes were cast, 119 at Kopuarahi and 112 at the Kerepeehi end. Details of the voting at the Kopuarahi school, booth and at Mr D. Shilton’s residence are as follows -
